Project Location: Primo Tapia
Hello, I’m Cindy, participant in the ¨Ejido Primo Tapia Savings Fund¨ program of Fundación Esperanza de México. Every Wednesday I constantly looked at people meeting near where I rented. I approached my (now) fellow beneficiaries and they invited me to come to the program. That's how they told me about Fundación Esperanza and it gave me a really good opportunity to fulfill the dream of having my home.
At Esperanza, they build houses with low-income families who request support, so we learned about the program. I entered the Primo Tapia FAV in February 2022 and began to come to the meetings they hold on Wednesdays. They commented at the 3 consecutive meetings that they were going to do a socioeconomic study of the home where we lived. The advisor Gricelia told me to go to the meeting so I joined the group and they told me that the savings payments were $500 pesos (about $25 USD) per week. My family was as happy as I was when I told them because of the comfortable payments.
My experience in construction was very fun. I learned many things about tying rebar and making blocks. The American volunteers who support us come from different places. It is very important to collaborate and follow the instructions of the technicians. In my project I had the support of my family. I am very grateful to the FAV group with the main technical assistants in the construction.
